Moscato d’Asti is one of the most characteristic products of Piedmont’s viticulture, with the inimitable musky aroma of the grapes it is made with (Moscato Bianco), delicate and intense, reminiscent of wisteria and linden, peach and apricot with hints of sage, lemons, and orange flowers. The characteristic aroma of Asti and of the Moscato d’Asti is the result of the union between the terpene compounds at a low olfactory threshold present in the Muscat grapes and the volatile compounds that develop during the fermentation of the grapes.
